Giving is Awesome

You know someone. You know someone who's experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't afford custom photography, but who would cherish it as we go into this new year. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family's spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography -- $600 worth, to be exact. A free custom portrait session, $150 print credit, and a CD of high-resolution images, it's in your power to give this gift to start of the new year.

Oh, and by the way, the person who nominates the winner will receive $150 print credit.

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person you nominate must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a 2 million dollar vacation home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

*The nominee must reside in Indiana. Tell me who you know, what they're experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact yourself and your nominee.

*You must e-mail the full story to jmckphotography@gmail.com.

*Nominations are due by January 10th, and the winner will be announced on January 15th-- get nominating! I can't wait to read all of your entries!

Let's start 2010 by looking beyond ourselves, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to give.

With love,

Janet

[by the way, this wasn't my idea. check out Giving is Awesome.]

Hi Janet,

I went to high school with you and your sister, I believe. Rachel? Any way, I found your blog via a Peace Corps journal, as I'm applying for the Peace Corps also, and I wanted to say I enjoy your pictures a lot! I hope to see more!
